Bridesmaid Trends

There are some great new trends popping up in the world of bridesmaids. Long gone are the horrific fabrics, poufy shoulders, and uncomfortable styles that girls endure for the bride only to complain about years later.

Designers like Jim Hjelm Occasions, Alvina Valenta, and Dessy are offering a wider range of colours, fabrics like chiffon and lace, and wear-ability for bridesmaid dresses – meaning that you can totally wear it again!  Some big trends for this upcoming season are chic vintage looks, softer colours in neutral tones and blush shades, as well as brighter colours like minty blues and greens.

Vintage Maids

Designers are showing vintage inspiration in their collection with touches of lace and illusion necklines. Soft, pastel colour palettes give bridesmaid styles an eclectic look, making these styles perfect for a vintage inspired wedding.

Blushing Nudes

Brides are straying away from overly bright pops of colour, and going for a more classic, timeless look. Opting for flattering nude tones like cashmere, champagne, or silver can not only compliment the wedding’s theme and the bride’s dress, but the right shade can really make each of the bridesmaids glow and look their best. Softer pink tones in blush or rose are a modern classic colour that enhance a romantic setting for a wedding. These colours look great on their own, or mix and match shades to create a unique colour scheme.

Minty Hues

This pretty colour is popping up in dresses, shoes, flowers, and even jewelry – perhaps inspired by the iconic shade of Tiffany blue. Every shade from a pale minty green to a deeper turquoise give bridal party dresses a fresh flair. Mint shades are flattering on just about every skin tone, and can look really great with white and neutral accessories, or even a vibrant pop of colour – whether it’s the bouquet, shoes, or lipstick, like a deep red for a retro look.

We’re Moving!

It’s been an amazing 4 years at our current location, but the time has come to move on.

In May 2013, Novelle Bridal Shop will be moving to a new larger, even more beautiful location!

We’ve got a sneak peak in this post here with beautiful renderings and sketches from our friends at Design Eye, who have been wonderful in helping us realize our concept.

We’re only moving a few blocks down the street.  We have loved being a part of the 124st business area in Edmonton, so when this opportunity arose to stay in the area, but expand our size, we jumped at the chance.

Our new address will be 10553 124st.  We’re just north of Stony Plain Road in a beautiful all-glass building.

If you have any questions or concerns or would like further details, please contact us at 780-761-0888 or info@novellebridal.com.
