Finding That Perfect Fit: A-Line Dresses

12/03/15 NEWS

As a bridal consultant, one of the first things I ask in an appointment is:

‘What style of dress are you looking for?’

Now there are so many ways you could answer this question…. you may even have a specific fit or fabric in mind. However I find that most responses are more what feeling a girl wants from her dress….romantic, classic, sexy, SPARKLY! And this doesn’t necessarily restrict you to a certain shape. Personally I love love love the A-Line. It’s incredibly versatile as they look amazing in any location, flatter every body type and can suit any personality.

Here are three of my favourites this season:

The New Classic

Mikaella 2003

This super sweet creation by Mikaella is a more contemporary take on the classic strapless sweetheart wedding gown. With a playful skirt, low V back and a beautifully structured lace bodice, this is perfect for a bride who wants that cinched in feeling but still wants to twirl and dance the night away.

The Sexy & Chic

Tara Keely 2557

Don’t feel like you have to be restricted to a tight, form-fitting dress to show off your figure. Blow everybody away with this daring and undeniably sexy piece by Tara Keely. The stunning sheer bodice with peek-a-boo Venise lace and deep V neckline, paired with a soft chiffon skirt that softly accentuates your shape, is the perfect balance of romance and glamour.

For those who love Sparkle.

Eve of Milady 1547

This magical gown by Eve of Milady looks like it’s been taken straight out of a fairy tale. With a sheer beaded bodice, a stunning open back and delicate sleeves, you’ll be sure to take your guests’ breath away. I love the combination of the soft yet full A-line skirt finished with the very on-trend horsehair trim and the regal but youthful silhouette of the bodice- perfect for the modern day princess.

What ever look you want to achieve with your dress on your big day, don’t feel like you have to be restricted to certain fits. Play around, explore different styles and find the one that works best for you and your body. From there, it’s just finding that one, special dress that makes you shine.
